Sin is Not a Solution

Amidst an angry mob, the Roman proconsul took pity on such a gentle old man and urged Polycarp to proclaim, “Caesar is Lord”. If only Polycarp would make this declaration and offer a small pinch of incense to Caesar’s statue he would escape torture and death. To this Polycarp responded, “Eighty-six years I have served Christ, and He never did me any wrong. How can I blaspheme my King who saved me?” Steadfast in his stand for Christ, Polycarp refused to compromise his beliefs, and thus, was burned alive at the stake.

Staff Infection?

You wouldn’t work with an aids patient who was bleeding if you yourself had open wounds and no  gloves, unprotected. Then why? Why would we send our Christians, the children of God, into a lost, infectious world with open wounds and no protection? No. Instead we feed them Turkish delight and spread the infection even further. Shame on us, His “anointed”, for being so arrogant. For knowing that we are safe from the fire that will one day consume the infection! The infection that plagues this world! The infection Christians are immune to. What honor? What glory do we bring to God when we turn a blind eye, a deaf ear, a mute mouth, and a hard heart to the sin that we have allowed to plague our churches? How can we continue to ask God for revival when the ball is clearly in our court?

What the World Needs

We live in a world that needs Jesus. That fact hasn’t changed and it won’t. The world does not need a church organization. The world needs the church, His bride, to live what they say they believe. The world needs us to shine like stars in the universe so that they can see Him.

Author of Salvation

God is the Author of salvation.
For some people this is can be hard to grasp. I don’t mean this in an arrogant way. I think that for some Christians we take advantage of the knowledge that we hold on to. We flaunt the grace that we wear. But for some they ask questions. Not because they don’t believe. But simply because they don’t understand. They live in fear of seeking answers because people may think the worst. They want to understand. They just don’t.

LOL

The night before Thanksgiving we stayed at my mom’s. So Titus, our two year old, slept in the same room as Kolby and I. Titus had been asleep for quite sometime before Kolby and I went to bed. Just as we were about to go to sleep we started to hear some movement and then…Laughter.

Relationship

This morning I got to be in the presence of God. I wasn’t really asking anything…just talking. He reminded me of who He is, how big He is. It is relationship. A time to talk and a time to listen. It was clear and immeasurable. The God of all the universe met me this morning. … Read more

More Weight!

Have you ever read “The Crucible”? You know the fiction story of the young girls in the 1700s who start accusing all these people of being witches and being under the rule of the devil. The actions of these girls sent the people on a witch hunt. Blinded by fear and false sense of “holy” purpose, they carried out acts of injustice in the name of God. Well if you haven’t it’s really not half bad. It’s a sad story in so many ways, but it makes some good points.

Nap Time…

I can remember a time when, a little while after lunch, the whole house would become quiet.  I had at least an hour to do what ever I wanted or needed to do. My boys would lay down for a nap and there was silence.

Fearfully Fearless

Fear. It’s a powerful feeling. One that can lead to completely irrational decisions. A feeling that robs you of reality. And yet we seem to take some sort of pleasure in it. We go to the movies just to experience it. We pay money to be surprised, panicked, and even terrified. We have an addiction to its power. Although at times we make ourselves vulnerable to fear that will forever haunt us.
