Turkey Joke #6

Why do turkeys lay eggs?

If they dropped them, they’d break!

That’s common sense. Do you know what else is common sense? The idea that life is more than just breathing, feeling and existing.

You are not a mistake. You are not an accident. There is purpose and meaning but it’s only found in Jesus Christ.

The Bible says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).

What is stopping you from coming to Christ and discovering the life He created you to have?

Turkey Joke #5

What do you get when a turkey lays an egg on top of a barn?

An eggroll.

Perhaps the correct question should be, “Why would a turkey be on top of a barn?”

Sometimes we find ourselves in places that we don’t expect. When you look at your life…Where you’ve come from…Where you’re going…How do you see your life? Are you satisfied and secure with this?

Jesus said, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly” (John 10:10).

Do you have abundant life? Are you really living or are you just surviving?

Turkey Joke #4

Why did the turkey cross the road twice?

To prove he wasn’t chicken!

People are scared of many things but it has been said that the greatest fear is death. Did you know you don’t have to be scared of this?

The Bible says, “But [God’s grace] has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel” (2 Timothy 1:10).

If Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior, there’s nothing in death to fear. You can know for sure that you have eternal life.

Turkey Joke #3

Why did the chewing gum cross the road?

It was stuck on the turkey’s foot!

Didn’t expect this answer? Here’s another you might not expect…

Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven…” (Matthew 7:21).

Many people will tell Jesus all the good things they’ve done but there is no place for them in Heaven. Even though they were good, Jesus was not the LORD of their lives. They weren’t “saved.” No one is good enough to get into Heaven on their own…

Turkey Joke #2

Why did the turkey cross the road?

It was the chicken’s day off.

Here’s the Good News. If you’ve giving your life to Jesus Christ, you’ve crossed from death to life.

Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life” (John 5:24).

Do you know for sure that you have eternal life? Have you crossed from death to life?

Turkey Joke #1

What key won’t open any door?

A Turkey.

The Bible talks about a door too.

Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).

What is stopping you from opening the door of your life to Jesus Christ. He created you. He loves you and has great plans for your life. Why would anyone want to keep that “door” closed?

Self-Examination

Read:

A woman went into a psychiatrist’s office. She had a fried egg on her head and strips of bacon hanging over her ears. She said to the doctor, “I didn’t come to see you about myself; I came to see you about my brother. There is something wrong with him.”*

Moral: It’s easy to see something wrong with others, while over-looking our own faults.

Reflect

Read Matthew 7:1-2 from your Bible.

Respond

Prayerfully consider what you have read today. Then take a few moments to pray for yourself, your students, and others with whom you serve in ministry.

Remember

Every time you point your finger, you have three already pointing back at you.
