The passage turns and then lowers. You crawl forward to see if the passage will end but it doesn’t. Instead it opens up. The ground is slippery here. You stand up and bats suddenly swarm around your head. You duck and turn to run but your feet slip. You’re sliding downward. The flashlight flies from your hand and feel yourself being launched off a small ledge. You plummet into the dark and splash into a shallow, underground reservoir. Rocks shift and slide around you, trapping your foot. You can’t move. You are waist deep in water. You taste it. It’s fresh. You have found a water source but you are trapped. No one knows where you are and you are never seen again.
