Forgiving Others

EPHESIANS 4:32

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.

MARK 11:25

Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions.

COLOSSIANS 3:12-13

Put on therefore, as God’s elect, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.

1 PETER 2:21-23

For to this were you called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow his steps, who did not sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.” Who, when he was reviled, didn’t revile back. When he suffered, didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously.

1 PETER 3:9

Finally, be all like-minded, compassionate, loving as brothers, tenderhearted, courteous, not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but instead blessing; knowing that to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.

MATTHEW 18:21-22

Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I don’t tell you until seven times, but, until seventy times seven.

MATTHEW 6:12

Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.

MATTHEW 6:14-15

For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Homosexuality

1 CORINTHIANS 6:9-10

Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit the Kingdom of God.

LEVITICUS 18:22

You shall not lie with a man, as with a woman. That is detestable.

ROMANS 1:26-28

For this reason, God gave them up to vile passions. For their women changed the natural function into that which is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men doing what is inappropriate with men, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error. Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God gave them up to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not fitting.

Loneliness

JOHN 14:18

I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.

ISAIAH 43:1-2

But now thus says Yahweh who created you, Jacob, and he who formed you, Israel: “Don’t be afraid, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name. You are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you.”

ISAIAH 58:9

Then you shall call, and Yahweh will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’

COLOSSIANS 2:10

And in him you are made full, who is the head of all principality and power.

HEBREWS 13:5-6

Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.” So that with good courage we say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

Lust

2 TIMOTHY 2:22

Flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

JOB 40:1

I made a covenant with my eyes, How then should I look lustfully at a young woman?

JAMES 1:14-15

But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, produces death.

MATTHEW 5:27-28

You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery;’ but I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

Mind & Thought Life

PSALM 37:7

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.

ROMANS 8:25

But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.

JAMES 5:8

You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

JAMES 1:3-4

Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

GALATIANS 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

GALATIANS 6:9

Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up.

JAMES 5:10

Take, brothers, for an example of suffering and of patience, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.

ROMANS 12:12

Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil. Cling to that which is good. In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; in honor preferring one another; not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope; enduring in oppression; continuing steadfastly in prayer

Peace

JOHN 14:1-2

Don’t let your heart be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you.

ISAIAH 26:3

You will keep whoever’s mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you.

ISAIAH 43:2

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, and flame will not scorch you.

JOHN 14:27

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful.

JOHN 16:33

I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.

PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. The peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

1 PETER 3:11

Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.

2 THESSALONIANS 3:16

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all.

ROMANS 12:18

If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.

ROMANS 8:6

For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace.

PROVERBS 12:20

Deceit is in the heart of those who plot evil, But joy comes to the promoters of peace.

Prayer

MATTHEW 6:9-13

Pray like this: “Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.”

JAMES 5:16

Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.

MATTHEW 7:7-8

Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

MATTHEW 21:22

All things, whatever you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.

ISAISH 65:24

It shall happen that, before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

1 JOHN 5:14-15

This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.

JEREMIAH 33:3

Call to me, and I will answer you, and will show you great things, and difficult, which you don’t know.

JEREMIAH 29:12

You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

ISAIAH 30:19

For the people will dwell in Zion at Jerusalem. You will weep no more. He will surely be gracious to you at the voice of your cry. When he hears you, he will answer you.

HEBREWS 4:16

Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.

Purity

PHILIPPIANS 4:8

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.

1 THESSALONIANS 4:3-5

For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God

EPHESIANS 5:5

Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:18

Flee sexual immorality. “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

COLOSSIANS 3:5-6

Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry; for which things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:13

“Foods for the belly, and the belly for foods,” but God will bring to nothing both it and them. But the body is not for sexual immorality, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

2 CORINTHIANS 6:14

Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?

JOB 31:1

I made a covenant with my eyes, How then should I look lustfully at a young woman?

MATTHEW 5:28

But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart.

JOHN 8:34

Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly I tell you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.”

Rest

MATTHEW 11:28-30

Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

EXODUS 20:8-11

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. You shall labor six days, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; for in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy.

HEBREWS 4:10-11

For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.

Salvation Verses

JOHN 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

ROMANS 3:23

For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God

ROMANS 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

ROMANS 5:8

But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

JOHN 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.”

ROMANS 10:9

That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

ROMANS 10:13

For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

EPHESIANS 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

JOHN 10:28-29

I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

Seeking God

COLOSSIANS 3:1

If then you were raised together with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God.

JAMES 4:8

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

MATTHEW 6:33

But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.

JEREMIAH 29:13

You shall seek me, and find me, when you shall search for me with all your heart.

Self-Control

2 CORINTHIANS 10:4-5

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 5 throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

GALATIANS 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

2 TIMOTHY 2:24

The Lord’s servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient

Self-Worth

1 SAMUEL 16:7

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: for I see not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

PSALM 139:13-14

For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well.

PSALM 139:17-18

How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is their sum!

If I would count them, they are more in number than the sand.

When I wake up, I am still with you.

Sexual Activity

1 THESSALONIANS 4:3-5

For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God

1 CORINTHIANS 6:18-20

Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 CORINTHIANS 10:8

Neither let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.

1 CORINTHIANS 3:16-17

Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are.
