Prayer

MATTHEW 6:9-13

Pray like this: “Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, as in heaven, so on earth. Give us today our daily bread. Purity

PHILIPPIANS 4:8

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.

1 THESSALONIANS 4:3-5

For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God

EPHESIANS 5:5

Know this for sure, that no sexually immoral person, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.

1 CORINTHIANS 6:18

Flee sexual immorality. “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

COLOSSIANS 3:5-6

Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry; for which things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience.

Rest

MATTHEW 11:28-30

Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

EXODUS 20:8-11

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. You shall labor six days, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God. You shall not do any work in it, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; for in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy.

HEBREWS 4:10-11

For he who has entered into his rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, lest anyone fall after the same example of disobedience.

ROMANS 10:13

For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

EPHESIANS 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

JOHN 10:28-29

I give eternal life to them. They will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of my Father’s hand.

Self-Control

2 CORINTHIANS 10:4-5

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, 5 throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

Self-Worth

1 SAMUEL 16:7

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t look on his face, or on the height of his stature; because I have rejected him: for I see not as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

PSALM 139:13-14

For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother’s womb.

I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well.

How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is their sum!

Sexual Activity

1 THESSALONIANS 4:3-5

For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God

1 CORINTHIANS 6:18-20

Flee sexual immorality! “Every sin that a man does is outside the body,” but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 CORINTHIANS 10:8

Neither let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.

1 CORINTHIANS 3:16-17

Don’t you know that you are a temple of God, and that God’s Spirit lives in you? If anyone destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him; for God’s temple is holy, which you are.

Sin

COLOSSIANS 3:5-10

Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry; for which things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience. You also once walked in those, when you lived in them; but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth. Don’t lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator

ROMANS 3:10-12

As it is written, “There is no one righteous; no, not one. There is no one who understands.

There is no one who seeks after God. They have all turned aside. They have together become unprofitable. There is no one who does good, no, not so much as one.

ROMANS 3:23

For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God

JAMES 4:17

To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin.

Temptation

1 CORINTHIANS 10:13

No temptation has taken you but such as man can bear. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

JAMES 1:12-16

Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. But each one is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin; and the sin, when it is full grown, brings forth death.

JAMES 4:7

Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

HEBREWS 4:15

For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.

GALATIANS 6:7-8

Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that will he also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

ROMANS 12:2

Don’t be fashioned according to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

MARK 14:38

Watch and pray, that you not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

COLOSSIANS 3:5-6

Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry; for which things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the sons of disobedience.

1 JOHN 2:15-17

Don’t love the world, neither the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, the Father’s love isn’t in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, isn’t the Father’s, but is the world’s. The world is passing away with its lusts, but he who does God’s will remains forever.

EPHESIANS 6:11

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

GALATIANS 5:16-17

But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other, that you may not do the things that you desire.

ROMANS 6:12-14

Therefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. Neither present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God, as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace.

HEBREWS 2:18

For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

HEBREWS 4:15

For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.

JOHN 10:10

The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.

Thankfulness

1 THESSALONIANS 5:18

In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.

PSALM 100:4

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, Into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, and bless his name.

PSALM 30:12

To the end that my heart may sing praise to you, and not be silent. O Lord, my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

EPHESIANS 5:20

Giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, to God, even the Father.

PSALM 106:1

Praise the Lord! Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, For his lovingkindness endures forever.

COLOSSIANS 4:2

Continue steadfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving.

Worry

ROMANS 8:28

We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

1 PETER 5:7

Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.

PROVERBS 3:5-6

Trust the Lord with all your heart, And don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, And he will direct your paths.

PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. The peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

PHILIPPIANS 4:19

My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

ISAIAH 41:10

Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you; don’t be dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you; yes, I will help you; yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.

MATTHEW 6:25-26

Therefore, I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will put on. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?

MATTHEW 6:31-34

Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be added to you. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.
